Regional Director, Sales

Global Compliance Services, a global provider of ethics and compliance solutions to the Fortune 1000, seeks a Regional Director Client Development to join our fast-paced Sales Department. The Regional Director is responsible for closing new services contracts, maintaining customer satisfaction with large existing customers, and up-selling customer contracts through renewals and additional services. This will be accomplished through effective coverage and management of an assigned geographic area (Northeast Region - New York & New Jersey area) and assigned Vertical Market (VM) Target Accounts.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Achieve assigned quota and territory/vertical market objectives
  • Develop and execute a territory/vertical market coverage plan designed to maximize contract and existing revenue sales within an approved expense budget
  • Plan and adhere to established call and VM Target Account Plan by proactive concentration in the following areas:
    • Prospecting – identify and qualify potential new customers
    • Closing – negotiate Global Compliance service and price to consummate a sale to a new or existing client
    • Incremental/Cross Selling – expand Global Compliance existing customer contract values through incremental up-sell of services and solutions
  • Initiate contact with potential new customers and prospects; call on clients and prospects in person by writing letters, e-mail correspondence and by telephone as appropriate
  • Design client solutions specific to business needs identified; prepare and present customized proposals to clients and prospects
  • Coordinate sales activities with others in different departments throughout the company
  • Attend and participate in meetings, conferences, tradeshows, and training as required or considered appropriate
  • Coordinate new sales activities (Needs analysis, pricing, and service agreements) with the Operations Department on capturing new clients
  • Coordinate client maintenance and revenue expansion strategies with internal functional departments with new clients. Regional Director and Account Management function as a team to maintain and expand exiting contracted business
  • Effective and professional communication with VP Sales regarding sales and market trends, collateral materials requirements, competitive intelligence, travel itinerary, potential and existing customer information
  • Take initiative to develop skills by staying current on industry trends, Global Compliance product knowledge, improved sales skills, etc. Accept responsibility for career development by actively responding to feedback
  • Participate in appropriate meetings, seminars and training sessions
  • Carry out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical and professional manner

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or related discipline, or an equivalent of work experience
  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience
  • Demonstrated ability to exceed sales quotas in excess of $1M in services environment
  • Experience selling proprietary solutions and intangible enterprise level applications and services
  • Experience in the Ethics and Compliance community and/or experience in on-line training products and services
  • Knowledge and experience with SalesForce.com a plus
  • Effective team player with strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Practical application of standard sales concepts, practices and procedures
  • Proactive and effective communication skills both internal and client facing, including demonstrated presentation skills
  • Persistence in pursuit of reaching goals
  • Strong project planning and organizing skills
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully working from an off-site environment if remote
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and initiative
  • Strong customer and results orientation
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to function as an effective team member
  • Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves
