You are investigating a "he said/she said" case or another case where there are no eyewitnesses. How do you reach a conclusion on what happened? In this interactive webinar, you will learn advanced techniques for deciding who's telling the truth and who's lying. Among other things, you will learn how to:
- interview the complainant, the accused, and the witnesses using the "Funnel Method"
- begin the interview and establish a baseline for judging the truthfulness of later statements
- spot suspicious physical behaviors and verbal clues
- analyze five factors to determine who's telling the truth
- properly document your findings

Presenter
Michael Johnson has trained thousands of professionals around the world on how to conduct internal investigations. The United Nations hired him to help revise their investigations policies and train their staff in New York, the Congo, and Sierra Leone on how to effectively investigate employee misconduct. He has served as expert witness in cases challenging the adequacy of employer's investigations. He is a former attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice, where he brought one of the Justice Department's first "pattern of practice" sexual harassment cases.
Michael co-founded Brightline Compliance, a leading provider of online and instructor-led training on ethics, compliance, and employment law topics, which was acquired by Global Compliance in 2007.
He is a graduate of Duke University and Harvard Law School.
