Global Compliance has been acquired by The Riverside Company, a private equity firm based in Cleveland, Ohio. As some of you may be aware, one of their acquisitions in December 2010 was Employment Law Training (ELT), the online training company based in San Francisco, CA.
The acquisition of ELT was Riverside’s first move into the ethics and compliance industry – and they were intrigued by the trend towards integrated Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) platforms supported by best-in-class training content to better manage GRC initiatives – a vision shared by Global Compliance. The innovations we have brought to marketplace and the support we have received from our more than 4,000 customers around the globe made us one of the valuable assets Riverside wanted as part of their portfolio.
And recently, Riverside entered into an agreement to acquire EthicsPoint pending shareholder approval.
When fully combined, this merged organization (Global Compliance, ELT and EthicsPoint) will be a leading player in ethics and compliance with the capacity to meet the expanding needs of our customers all over the world. We will continue to ground of all our solutions with deep legal and compliance expertise – and with rigorous data and analytics that help protect our clients and enhance their business performance.

- What is our new news?
Global Compliance has been acquired by The Riverside Company.
The purchase of Global Compliance from Angelo, Gordon & Co. by Riverside was formalized on Friday, December 30th. One of Riverside’s acquisitions in December 2010 was Employment Law Training (ELT), the online training company based in San Francisco.
In addition, ELT Holdings and Riverside recently entered into an agreement to acquire EthicsPoint pending shareholder approval.
In short – Global Compliance will become part of a compelling and comprehensive GRC services provider with the capacity to meet the expanding needs of customers all over the world.
- Why did Riverside acquire Global Compliance, Employment Law Training (ELT) and EthicsPoint?
Global Compliance, ELT and EthicsPoint are leading companies in the GRC space and are committed to strong customer relationship and developing leading technologies. Riverside believes that the combination of these complementary platforms will result in a stronger company overall.
- When will the merger occur?
The ELT acquisition was completed in December 2010. The Global Compliance acquisition was completed in December 2011 – so both ELT and Global Compliance are now officially owned by Riverside. The final merger with EthicsPoint is expected to close at the end of February following the EthicsPoint shareholder meeting and shareholder approval.

- If I am a Global Compliance customer, is the hotline, case management or training platform that I am currently using going to change?
No. For the foreseeable future, the products and platforms that you are currently using from Global Compliance will not change.
- Will I be able to order ELT and EthicsPoint products from Global Compliance now?
Not yet. We will be working diligently over the coming months to ensure a smooth integration once the approval process is complete. We will notify you if processes change and opportunities for new solutions become available.
- Who should Global Compliance customers contact for sales and service support?
Customers should continue to use the sales and customer service contacts they currently use.
